and haven't seen it since reverting it. Will wait another 24hours.
If such error does not happen after reverting this patch, I will send you another patch to print out information when recovery failed I/O. This patch is to avoid bcache to recovery staled data from backing device if cache device failed (-EIO returned when accessing dirty data on cache device). After another 24 hours no error reported from XFS, and your cache device is in health status, then let's see what is missing in the reverted patch. Thanks for the update.
