https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=665669 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=665669#c0 Summary: 'Source Services' are not documented (well) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: johannesobermayr@gmx.de QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-DE) AppleWebKit/533.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) rekonq Safari/533.3 First of all: Here is a small documentation: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_Concept_SourceService What is missing is a documentation how (or whether) I can - clone/checkout GIT/SVN repositories - merge branches (GIT) - create a tarball from a specific branch (GIT) - use more GIT/SVN repositories/tarballs within one package - define a scheme for versions (how OBS defines the version) - define update/pull/checkout interval - Where is the cloned/checked out repository stored? - Will it be cloned/checked out again if the package is branched? - Where is the source code of that tool? - ... A first attempt can be list each available 'source service' with its specific parameters. (Advanced users can deduce them then ...) In general all services must be described as detailed as possible to use such a tool efficient.
