https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=402447 Summary: Touchpad stopped working for "root" after attempt to change settings w/"touchpad" utility Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jimomura@pathcom.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Computer is: HP/Compaq Presario V2570CA AMD Turion 64 ML-32 CPU. Chipset is "RS480M" with "ATI Radeon XPRESS 200M IGP" (detected as "XPRESS 200M 5955 (PCIE)"), with ATI SB400 Synaptics touchpad. I installed 11.0 and rebooted and it seemed to be working fairly well, but I wanted to turn off "tap" click and "auto-scrolling". I tried the new utility, but on exit, the mouse did not respond. I attached an external USB mouse and it is still working. After some experimenting, I found the problem only under the "root" account. There is no problem during the early boot, nor is there a problem if I log in under another account. However, if I log out from my regular account and try logging in as "root" again, the touchpad stops working as soon as the actual account takes over (as soon as the "root" desktop is visible). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
