Zypper wants to do the same: ########################################################################### # zypper patch Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... Problem: patch:k3b-2785.noarch conflicts with k3b-lang.noarch < 2.0.0-1.1.1 provided by k3b-lang-2.0.0-1.pm.2.14.noarch Solution 1: Following actions will be done: install k3b-lang-2.0.0-1.1.1.noarch (with vendor change) http://packman.links2linux.de --> openSUSE install k3b-2.0.0-1.1.1.i586 (with vendor change) http://packman.links2linux.de --> openSUSE Solution 2: do not install patch:k3b-2785.noarch Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/c] (c): ########################################################################### Both zypper and KupdateApplet shouldn't propose an update with a Vendor change because "solver.allowVendorChange" in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf default is "false". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add packman repository for OpenSuse 11.3 2. Change k3b to the packman version. 3. Check for updates with KupdateApplet or with "zypper patch". 4. They will want to update and change the vendor of k3b. Actual Results: Zypper and KupdateApplet (with packagekit engine) want to do an update with Vendor change. Expected Results: Zypper neither KupdateApplet shouldn't propose update a package with Vendor change because "solver.allowVendorChange" in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf default is "false".
