The cause is that the default master channel in kmix is the HDMI audio and not the normal sound card. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install OpenSUSE 12.1 with KDE on a computer equipped with HDMI connection. 2.Start to play any music or sound. 3.Try to decrease the volume by kmix slider or by volume hotkeys (if any). 4.See how the volume level does not change because is the volume of the HDMI channel which is being decreased.
