Regarding DjVu: According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DjVu "The mask image is compressed using a method called JB2 (similar to JBIG2)." and "JBIG" rings my alarm bells because JBIG has patent issues, see http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/jbigkit/patents.html I don't know about JB2 but I feel unsafe so that - if at all - we could only package it after a thorough analysis regarding legal issues with gscan2pdf - do not confuse GPL sources with other possible legal issues, carefully read https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=342704#c1 According to http://www.xsane.org/doc/sane-xsane-multipage-doc.html XSane supports multipage PDF too so that I wonder if we really need gscan2pdf. I.e. what is the advantage of gscan2pdf over XSane? I close this request for a new package with "wontfix" because we already provide the functionality via XSane and the new package might even cause legal issues. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
