https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=754389 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=754389#c0 Summary: Missing directory "/.snapshots" keeps snapper from working (console tool as well as Yast plugin) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: marceltreis+novellLogin@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I tried to use Snapper after a fresh openSUSE install but using the Yast2 plugin failed as well as "sudo snapper create". var/log/snapper.log told me: libsnapper(3529) Snapshot.cc(nextNumber):362 - mkdir failed errno:2 (No such file or directory) Using strace i found that snapper needs the directory "/.snapshots", which was non-existent on my hard drive. After manually creating this directory everything works fine, i can now create snapshots, and Yast automatically creates them. Perhaps snapper could auto-magically create the directory if needed?
