After 20 minutes no lock-ups, but that is hardly a valid test as it would go for days on end without doing so. Other points :- - Whenever the kernel is updated I have had to reapply the patch, as expected. - After installing the latest HAL update the incidence of lock-ups seems to have increased. That might help go along with the Acard being a contributing factor, as the HAL probably does not know what it is or even if it is there ! I'll re-post in a week if I see no more lock-ups, or sooner if I do. I can later move the DVD to an IDE channel, there is an unused master connector right there by it (I just prefer SCSI) :-) I have downloaded Nero for Linux 3.0.0 and it does not lock-up scanning, but of course now it has no DVD to write to (it can see my old Plextor SCSI CD-RW drive):-( Jim -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug. ---
