https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335547 Summary: silc-toolkit (Pidgin) can't handle public keys Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: td@pre-secure.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- After updating to openSUSE 10.3 my Silc accounts were not working in Pidgin anymore. After trying to log in into a Silc server the following errors occurred: Error encoding SILC public key identifier Error during key exchange with sauna.silcnet.org: Unexpected error occurred With silc-toolkit 1.0.x everything was working fine. The culprit seems to be silc-toolkit-1.1.2-14 because after manually updating to silc-toolkit-1.1.3 everything was working again. This also fits to the descriptions found in the release notes: http://silcnet.org/docs/release/SILC%20Toolkit%201.1.3 Tested with: pidgin-2.1.1-13 libpurple-2.1.1-13 Note: Apparently silc-toolkit 1.1.x also handles private keys (for a user and not a server) differently. Another error message given after the update, when trying to connect to a server was Malformed SILC private key and occurred for both silc-toolkit 1.1.2 and 1.1.3. The solution here was to create a new user key pair. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
