Please do not mix two different bugs even if they have similar results.
I was only making an observation that I thought could be of some use in discussion here.
Using local time in CMOS will always produce trouble at least twice a year. Therefore I'd like to enforce every user to set the CMOS clock to the international (network) standard UTC. If you know where e.g. Windows[tm] stores its information about the DTS correction
Did you miss my comments about DOS and OS/2? I boot them more often than I boot Windows. Users commonly initialize the BIOS clock manually if it was not set with reference to local time prior to delivery, or if the battery was dead and POST reports the clock needs to be set. These users just as typically are not mindful of their own TZ offset value, or that it may change twice a year. It should be interesting to see the effects of enforcement on multiboot systems where at least one OS can't cope with UTC CMOS and others may choose not to make the same assumption. It might not be hard with only 2 installed OS, but what about with 4, 8 or 32? My systems average in excess of 8. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
