https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=362540 Summary: please provide means for self-contained external medium check Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- ( external -- from already running system ) When I burn the disc from the ISO file it is possible it is correct, because I have file, I have disk, I have md5sum. But what can I do if the disc was copied from my friend, and I have only disc. Several ideas: a) put the md5sum file for each file of the disc b) put the iso file size -- it is enough to read the data from the disc and computer md5sum (and then compare it to the md5sum from the net) c) it would be perfect -- compute md5sum file "in reverse" so you could put the it itself on the disc, however I guess it is technically impossible Anyway, the point is, I would like to have a disc copied from disc (no iso file around) and then type mount /media/dvd /media/dvd/check-medium which at best would display "disc is (not) ok", at worst "the md5sum for the disc is.....". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
