When I am booting with acpi on, and manage to boot successfully, the order of messages on boot is different. This is what I see in boot.msg file: <6>parport_pc 00:0d: reported by Plug and Play ACPI <6>parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778), irq 7, dma 1 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,ECP,DMA] <6>iTCO_vendor_support: vendor-support=0 <6>input: Video Bus as /devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/PNP0A03:00/device:20/input/input7 <6>iTCO_wdt: Intel TCO WatchDog Timer Driver v1.02 (26-Jul-2007) <6>rtc_cmos 00:06: rtc core: registered rtc_cmos as rtc0 <6>rtc0: alarms up to one month, y3k <6>iTCO_wdt: Found a ICH7-M TCO device (Version=2, TCOBASE=0x1060) <6>iTCO_wdt: initialized. heartbeat=30 sec (nowayout=0) So iTCO and rtc seem to boot after the parport with acpi=on, rather than before as it happens with acpi=off. I wonder if there may be some race condition there? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
