http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=626253 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=626253#c0 Summary: System hung or frozen, but not quite Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: per@opensuse.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 I have very little to go on here, except for an 11.3 system that keeps locking up. When it is locked up, I can still access the console and attempt to login, but I only get to hitting enter after entering 'root'. I can do this on multiple consoles, and I can still switch to tty10. Interestingly, when I turn on NumLock, I can't turn it off again. I have a growing suspicion that it is I/O related - I noticed today that 3-4 disks had their activity-LED lit, but nothing much was happening. I then tried Alt-Sysrq-S, which turned off the activity-LEDs. I'm not sure if this has any bearing on what's going on at all. This system ran at first 11.2, then 11.3-milestones, then rc1, now 11.3 - I'm pretty certain I did not experience this hang up with 11.3 pre-RC1. I'll probably install 11.2 just to verify. Reproducible: Always I'm off on vacation in a couple of days but will be back mid-August. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
