The issue is visible in the log, so I'll dig into the pk-backend code to figure out what they are doing. It's not maintained by us/zypp-team, so it may take a bit time.

But I'm pretty sure this issue is specific to the pk-backend and won't happen if the system is updated by 'zypper dup'. So this may be a workaround for you in the meantime.
