As about 90% of SAP R/3's memory is located within shared memory segments, this setting prevents to use 8 GB or larger shared memory configurations. dev_disp of SAP says: Warning: tmpfs at /dev/shm is configured quite small with 3584 MB! Minimum value is 8192 MB.
