https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=211563 Summary: Volume Settings for Card X Dialog Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: lslezak@novell.com ReportedBy: locilka@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I'm sorry, but this dialog is gonna scare people a bit :) I know that the solution reflects the fact that we don't have enough space in dialogs but... The dialog doesn't solve user's needs. User wants/needs this: * Find out how high is the sound strength set for particular output/input * Set the particular strength for particular input/output This cannot be solved by IntFiled and definitely not in a 4x6 items grid. Try some tests: * Try to find out the Microphone or CD value but don't think about numbers, they don't have any reasonable meaning here... * Try to image if the volume setting is too high or too low... * Try to find Wave, CD, AC97 and Video channels and adjust them to the same value... (don't think about numbers, think just about the sound strength like you do it on your CD-player). What do we need is: * Limit number of visible channels * Do not use IntField but Sliders * Do not use grid but a simplier representation * Maybe do the list of channels configurable * Or maybe drop almost all of these channels and leave this task on the KDE mixer and alsamixer -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
