https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=432612 Summary: no nfs mounting ... Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Call me an idiot ;-) but my NFS shares no longer mount: $ sudo mount /share/ mount.nfs: rpc.statd is not running but is required for remote locking. mount.nfs: Either use '-o nolock' to keep locks local, or start statd. I have the nfs-client package installed - (as it is by default), I tried starting a few /etc/rc.d/init.d/nfs type services, installing nfs-server, fooling about variously; to no avail. Is there a reason why we can't demand-start that daemon or give a friendly suse-specific message there ? or better, allow NFS mounts to work out of the box ? ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
