https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=432428 Summary: Missing option to fill encrypted partition with random data before formating it Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bitdealer@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- For security reasons the create partition dialog should offer an option to fill a partition which will be encrypted with random data (generated by dd-ing from /dev/[u]random) before it gets formated. Also there should be a big fat warning that this might take quite some time and a progress dialog would be nice to have as well. (I'm filling this as bug and not a feature request since this is a possible security hole - e.g. old disk content is still visible until it gets overwritten a few times.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
