https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=466193 Summary: applications timeout at startup although networkmanager establishes connection successfully Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sassmann@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development At startup of kde4 multiple applications like comic applet, pidgin, thunderbird etc. are autostarted. Every application started before networkmanager has set up the connection successfully seems to try a dns lookup and receives a timeout just after networkmanager has established the wlan connection. - pidgin "cannot establish connection" - firefox "offline mode" - comic widget just stays black and needs manual restart Can this be handle more gracefully? Applications should be stalled till the connection is set up properly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
