https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=783186 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=783186#c0 Summary: Hibernation fails and makes kernel crash Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: carlos.e.r@opensuse.org QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=508006) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=508006) photo of kernel messages Hibernation fails and makes kernel crash Hibernation in 12.1 still crashes the machine now and then. Sometimes it works for a week, others it crashes at the first attempt if the machine has been running "long enough" :-/ I see this behaviour. First it stops at this message (hand copied):
s2disk: snapshotting system [number.number] PM: prealocating image memory...
It sits there for a long time, but the machine is still doing things, because I see the HD led blink every few seconds. So I left the machine there while I went to sleep, and on the morning I saw kernel oops messages - see photo with call traces. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
