We neither have the time/manpower to implement anything more than generic printer setup functionality. In particular we cannot implement any printer device specific functionality. Nor will we have the time/manpower to continuously maintain any kind of printer device specific stuff in yast2-printer like fixing issues for this or that particular printer device (in very most cases we do not have a particular printer device) and/or keep printer device specific functionality up to date for the various continuously changing printer device models. This does not mean that someone of the openSUSE community cannot implement and continuously maintain a separated yast2-printer-device-maintenance YaST module or even several such printer device specific modules like yast2-printer-device-maintenance-epson, yast2-printer-device-maintenance-hp,... or a basic module with some kind of plugin functionality to support the various different kind of printer devices. But it does mean that we (i.e. SUSE) will not do it (at least not in the foreseeable future). If a separated yast2-printer-device-maintenance module exists, I would add a button in yast2-printer to call it from there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
