It is truncated. Anyway, according to dmesg the UAS driver does not like your HC and the host falls back to the old storage driver. That means that we cannot have a problem with altsettings. Confirmation of "lsusb -t" would be nice though. You speculated that it is due to the HD not spinning down. That can be tested.
