It's possible to set XDG_MENU_PREFIX=gnome, but it's not the default. When using this, you'll notice that we have way too many applications in the menus :/
Thanks Vincent! It's not perfect yet but it's certainly a huge improvement for me. For the record, this is what I use ATM: xinitrc --- export XDG_MENU_PREFIX=gnome- source .xinitrc.template --- The problems I see now are: A) as you noted, there are too many launchers. Many are shown in multiple menus. This should be easy to fix I think. B) many launchers have sub-ideal names. The gedit launcher for example shows "gedit" which is not a great idea IMHO. Why was this changed from the default "Text Editor"? If there are problems with (for example) KDE apps also being called "Text Editor", at least the name should be "GEdit Text Editor". The problem with this is that the SLAB menu displays "Name GenericName" IIRC. What about changing the menubar applet to do something similar? What do you think Vincent? I would be happy to help fixing .desktop files for openSUSE 11.1. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
