https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=469991 Summary: updater applet fonts too small to read Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: marc@marcchamberlin.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-0.1 Firefox/3.0.5 I am running SuSE11.1 on a large 42 inch 1080i monitor and need the ability to set the font sizes to relatively large sizes so as to be able to read from across a room. I have configured qtconfig and KDE Desktop personal settings for fonts to use large Arial 32 fonts, and have configured the GTK Styules and Fonts to use my KDE fonts in GTK applications. Apparently the openSuSE updater applet does not honor any of these settings, nor does it provide any sort of guide to help me set the font sizes that it uses. Currently it is opening up with the absolutely smallest font size making it near impossible to read. This is an extremely poorly designed/thought out feature and makes using this applet useless. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install SuSE11.1 on a large monitor. 2. Open the updater applet or try to bring up its tool tip. 3. Stand 20 feet away from the screen and try to read it. Actual Results: Fonts are so small as to be impossible to read without binoculars or a telescope Expected Results: I expect the applet to honor the KDE fonts size settings or at least the qtconfig settings (thought I really wish all the font settings was consolidated into one app.) I reported this and asked for help on the openSuSE mail list and got no answer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
