I have a D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510 Wireless PCI card. It works with both Ndiswrapper and MadWifi drivers. However Ndiswrapper is faster. When ndiswrapper is installed Yast will not allow me to configure the card because it does not know that ndiswrapper can be used with this card. The configure button is grayed out. The settings inside the configure button allow the user the specify what module to use.
When Madwifi is installed I am able to configure the card. This is because Yast recognizes the Madwifi kernel module. Only then am I able to specify ndiswrapper as the kernel module inside the configure dialog.
I'm sure this was intended to be a feature. I don't think it was part of 10.2.
I have included images of the problem. http://agronick.googlepages.com/suseproblem1.jpg http://agronick.googlepages.com/suseproblem2.jpg

Please attach the y2logs (see http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST for information how to save them)
BTW: Does it work if you click the "Add" button instead?
No, yast seems to have determined that there are two interfaces. I can add another one but it is not functional. I attached the log. Tell me if its not the right one or you need something else. Something I forgot to include: If I uninstall madwifi I am not able to use the card. It goes back to the previous state with the two boxes grayed out even though ndiswrapper is the driver I was previously using. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
