If I am right you don't file another bug report because it simply will not work with your hardware and then this bug report is also invalid for us. If you have original HP printserver hardware but this does now no longer work, please contact HPLIP directly http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/support.html because we cannot help you with such issues. For non-HP printserver boxes you can usually do only plain printing but neither device status nor scanning with HP all-in-one devices works because device status and scanning needs special bi-directional communication and special SNMP stuff which is usually not supported by non-HP printserver boxes. For plain printing HP printers usually do not need the "hp" backend but work also with the generic CUPS backends like "parallel", "usb", and for network connection "socket" and "lpd", see http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/doc-1.4/network.html I guess on openSuse 11.1 and Fedora 12 you did not use the "hp" backend in HPLIP but a generic CUPS backend so that plain printing worked there. In the YaST printer setup, use the "connection wizard" to set it up with a generic CUPS backend. Prefer "socket" if your printserver box supports it, see the help text is YaST for the "connection wizard" dialog. FYI: Regarding "backend" see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:CUPS_in_a_Nutshell "What is a CUPS backend and how does it work?" -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
