https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801442 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=801442#c0 Summary: jack2 doesn't work with new libffado 2.1.0 (repo: multimedia:libs) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@suse.com ReportedBy: steffen@klein-network.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Preface: I installed both jack (1.9.8) as well as ffado (2.1.0) from the repo multimedia:libs. Not having ffado installed previously ffado 2.1.0 was autoseleted by zypper if installing jack. Error: Unfortunately jackd can't be started with libffado 2.1.0 see Additional Info for error log. Findings so far: I assume the problem to be in the jack-package. Googling I found an ARCH-Linux-Bug where the problem for jack1 was fixed by a patch. https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/31633 I tried to recompile from src.rpm. Nothing changed. I tried to recompile from factory src.rpm. Nothing changed. There is a new released version 1.9.9 of jack2 since 2012-12-10: http://jackaudio.org/node/63 Maybe the bug is fixed there, however I haven't tried it yet. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install jack2 1.9.8 and ffado 2.1.0 from multimedia:libs 2. Try to start jackd with firewire driver: jackd -dfirewire Actual Results: firewire ERR: Incompatible libffado version! (libffado 2.1.0-) jackd stops. Expected Results: jackd runs, I can use my friewire audio interfaces.

And yes, it worked with jackd 1.9.8 (from 2011) and ffado 2.0.1 (from 2010), sadly this outdated version is not an option. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
