https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=227504 Summary: Siemens M34 USB occasionally stops soundcard Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: Olaf.Amm@fmi.fi QAContact: qa@suse.de I use a Siemens M34 USB adapter for VoIP calls (unfortunately not supported by Linux, but my machine is a Windows/Linux dual boot), and a Soundblaster sound card. Usually, even though the M34 USB is not useable under Linux, things work fine and the sound card is working normally. However, every 5th login or so, apparently randomly SuSE Linux recognises that M34USB adapter as the "sound card", so the actual Soundblaster card is disabled, and sound doesn't work. I think SuSE should not assign an USB device that it cannot fully recognize as a sound card. - Is there any fix/workaround for this? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
