https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207622 Summary: Time error on Dual Core AMD Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: r.ems@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Hi all! This is an AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ system, running SuSE 10.1 + all SuSE updates. The only kernel working without the time error is the first one from the DVD, 2.6.16.13-4-smp. Both update kernels 2.6.16.21-0.13-smp and 2.6.16.21-0.21-smp have the following error that the time is jumping forward and back some seconds. The output from date shows that the seconds go sometimes back! (see below) The screensaver starts unexpectedly, several programs timeout because of the wrong time. This error occurs with and without ntp running. We have another SuSE 10.1 SMP system with Pentium III (Coppermine), this error doesn't occur there. bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:48 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:48 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:47 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:49 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:55 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:54 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:56 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:55 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:55 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:56 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:58 CEST 2006 bingo:~ # date Tue Sep 19 11:21:57 CEST 2006 Regards, Richard -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
