https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847494 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847494#c15 --- Comment #15 from malcolm moore <st-malcolm.moore@whsg.info> 2013-11-22 15:35:03 UTC --- If I install 5.0.7-19 from you I get what seems to be random occasions where there is a huge ( 12-15 seconds ) pause between entering your username and being able to type in the password I had a look and in some cases with 5.0.0-19 autofs seems to be mounting the home directory after you enter the username but before you enter the password. ( Is that right ? ) I restarted the machine and entered a username and pressed return but didn't enter the password then Ctrl Alt F4 and logged in as root. The users home directory was mounted. Tried to repeat this again and autofs sometimes says attempting to mount entry /home/.directory key ".directory" not found in map sources If I install 5.0.7-150 from obs filesystems the first time I try and login I either get it going from the username box to the password box is instant but I get unable to enter home directory using / or a 12-15 second pause and then a sucsessful login. All subsequent login attempts there is a tiny pause but then it logs in OK Sorry this is a bit rambling but something doesn't work quite right and I don't know what else to say. It almost seems like there is a race between ldap and autofs. If you can suggest something to try let me know. Our setup has worked perfect from 11.4 - 12.3 Thanks M -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
