I'm afraid it can't be fixed for openSUSE 11.1 then. Let's hope that the mentioned fix really helps or, if not, that Ivo will manage to solve the problem soon enough to be present in 11.2. Unfortunately, even if the patch worked for you, it would be too risky to backport it to 11.1. Sorry that I cannot help more. Closing as UPSTREAM, as the upstream knows about the bug and tries to fix it.
