First bug is in the amdgpu driver, which exposes a fan1_input hwmon attribute which returns -EINVAL when read. If the fan speed can't be read then the attribute shouldn't be exposed in the first place. Second bug is that the pwmconfig script doesn't cope with this error case and continues as if everything was OK. I can't reproduce the bug on my systems at the moment.
