https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=812015 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=812015#c0 Summary: syslog-ng hangs in futex Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bugzilla@singvogel.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 I noticed it now the 2nd time, that my syslog-ng hangs on my openSUSE-12.3 machine. The first time I wasn't sure what the reason was (configuration, systemctl, etc.) but I tried to keep an eye on it. Today it happened again, after 2,5 days of running. The messages in /var/log/messages stopped at 9:05 am. Nothing special: start of a cron command. A strace on the daemon showed this: futex(0x7fdc64009ca0, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 2, NULL I stopped and restarted the process, now everything seems to work.
