https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=758690 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=758690#c0 Summary: "ifup: icfcfg-dsl0_s0_0 overrides interface type detection, please open a bug report" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: antoine.mechelynck@belgacom.net QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20120423 Firefox/14.0a1 SeaMonkey/2.11a1 Near the end of bootup (using systemd since transition to openSUSE 12.1) I notice the following two messages, output on /dev/tty10 (syslog, I suppose) by the ifup process (I'm omitting the left part of the lines, containing date, time, and process name and number): eth_s0_0 Warning: ifcfg-dsl0_s0_0 overrides interface type detection. Please open a bug report. Two similar lines appear during system shutdown: of course, I don't have them before my eyes now. I suppose they are issued by ifdown. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot or reboot the system Actual Results: See above. Expected Results: No error message, no request for opening a bug report. Additional info: /sbin/ifup is part of the package sysconfig version 0.75.4-2.7.1-x86_64 installed from vendor openSUSE. dsl0_s0_0 is my ADSL line, connected via pppoe (Phone cable <=> DSL splitter <=> DSL cable <=> DSL Modem <=> Ethernet cable <=> Computer [GigabitEthernet interface]). AFAICT there are no ill effects other than the warning message; I'm using that interface to submit this bug report. I'm setting Severity to Minor (cosmetic problem). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
