http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618520 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618520#c0 Summary: yast2 shouldn't try to monopolize screen- opens windows off screen; difficult to use Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse@tlinx.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 I have multiple monitors, but the 2nd monitor is my TV set. When I'm working on my desktop, it isn't part of it! But every window that yast2 opens, it tries to open up a huge window that spans 80-90% the width of my desktop -- and it is including the TV screen, so it opens a window where I can't see the right hand side of it. Yast needs to limit itself to 1 monitor. That's the first problem. Second -- if I resize it, it should pay attention and when new windows open, it should keep my size! as it is, it's very difficult to use -- since I have to pull the window far over to the left, to get to the scroll bar and the "Next"/"Cancel" options -- which are put at the far right of the window (which is completely off of my screen and put onto my TV screen, which I'm not watching). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Try resizing yast2 window to a smaller size, then when you hit next and it opens another window, it ignores your size and resizes it to large again. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
