https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=345775 Summary: After Applying kernel-2.6.22.13-0.3 System unbootable Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: AutoYaST AssignedTo: ug@novell.com ReportedBy: hhenry@hlhsoft.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Gurb reports file not found. When booting from DVD all is well but NO modules are loaded upon loading installed system(2.6.22.13-0.3. IE iptables not loaded. What I did to get around this I hope is correct is Downloaded kernel-2.6.22-12-0.1 (files) then did a rpm -i --force --replacefiles kern*.rpm. then rebooted and I seem to be back where I was. This is in my opinion a major boo boo. :) Redhat 9 had what I think is a nice feature which kept appending kernel files so one could boot an older version. Is there a way you could at least leave ~ kernels around for conditions like this ? FYI SAFE mode was unbootable too.
