https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=266899 Summary: installer hangs after asking root password Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ldb@braha.nl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Fresh internet install on new system (Via Epia EX, 160GB S-ata disk). Default kde install. after asking for root password the installer is doing its thing with suseconfig andf a lot of other messages passing by, and starting the kde environment with loginscreen, but no new users are made yet. So login is not possible, not even for root (who should have a password now). Going to a terminalsession (Ctrl-Alt-F1) login is not possible. Every loginname (that does not exist yet) results in password prompt, and after that username/password unknown. Except for root: this results in username/password unknown, directly after giving <enter> on typing in loginname. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
