It boots normally in the default mode. I was attempting to find a solution to a hardware problem which may be affected by acpi. Therefore I attempted to boot the system with "acpi=off". This causes the system to hang consistently, in the same spot. It does it if I just add "acpi=off", and also in failsafe mode. The last messages I see on the screen when it freezes are rtc_cmos 00:06: rtc core: registered rtc_cmos as rtc0 rtc0: alarms up to one month, y3k iTCO_wdt: Intel TCO WatchDog Timer Driver v1.02 (26-Jul-2007) iTCO_wdt: Found a ICH7-M TCO device (Version=2, TCOBASE=0x1060) iTCO_wdt: initialized. heartbeat=30 sec (nowayout=0) parport_pc 00:0d: reported by Plug and Play ACPI parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778), irq 7, dma 1 [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,ECP,DMA] My system info is 2.6.25.16-0.1-pae #1 SMP 2008-08-21 00:34:25 +0200 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux The contents of my /boot/grub/menu.lst and lspci -v are attached, and a picture showing messages at the time the system freezes (if there is a better way to get those messages with the system frozen on boot, let me know - I'd like to figure out a better way) Myrosia -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
