https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=465677 Summary: boot.localfs hangs in D state, machine does not reboot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vogt@itwm.fraunhofer.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=264747) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=264747) screenshot of d state in process list User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080410 SUSE/2.0.0.14-0.2.3 Firefox/2.0.0.14 Hello, again its fuser(!). I attach a screenshot which shows the problem. Seem that nobody is interested in this, but most likely you will need to fix that for SLES11.(sigh) (IMHO this D-state behavior is _not_ enterprise level) I reported similar problems already: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=464822 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=463801 A system should go down even if there is an nfs server failing or the user is still logged in (device busy) (At least this was the behavior since SuSE 7.3) Martin Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.mount a user $HOME over nfs and login as this user (stay logged in) 2.login as root (on console), shutdown/reboot machine 3.nfs share cannot be unmounted, because "device busy" then you will run into D and machine does not reboot and needs the power switch. Actual Results: D states because of fuser Expected Results: machine should come down/reboot -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
