today it started at 50C. Usually to start the fan, I have to type acpi -t in terminal as user to get it going. Today it started on its own. This is for
Can you make sure that "acpi -t" could exactly make fan turning ? If this is true then it's expected that something wrong in firmware because the acpi thermal zone temperature got cured via method call (_TMP) ? This is basally wild guess, no any code review/experience could provide that .. Better you could provide acpi dump for further analysis .. $ acpidump > acpidump.hex And provide acpi thermal zone information for working/no-working : $ grep "" /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone[0-9]/* $ grep "" /sys/class/thermal/cooling_device[0-9]/* The most we interested is what trip point temperature for "active" (ie turning fan) cooling type. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
