http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=498403 Summary: binutils & libiberty under 32bit Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: andi-nbz@firstfloor.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032600 SUSE/3.0.8-1.1.1 Firefox/3.0.8 The binutils-devel rpm has libiberty.h & libitery.a for 64bit. But binutils-32bit doesn't have 32bit libiberty.h I wanted to build a 32bit program (with -m32) that checks for libiberty in configure and it first found the libiberty.h in /usr/include, but then couldn't link because there's no 32bit libiberty.a in binutils-32bit So either: - Include 32bit libiberty.a in binutils-32bit or - Drop libiberty from binutils-devel. I think the later would be better because libiberty changes sometimes and it's better to always use the one included in the respective package.
