https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=431515 Summary: terminal definition in YaST2 bootloader allows arbitrary strings Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fs@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com CC: duwe@novell.com Found By: Documentation Under Boot Loader Installation -> Boot Loader Options there is a free text input filed "Terminal Definition" with which you can set the GRUB parameter terminal. Since only two values are allowed for terminal (serial, console) this should not be a free text field. The default, when terminal is not specified is console. In fact it only makes sense to set terminal, if parameters for the serail console are specified. Therefore I would suggest to completely remove this configuration option from YaST and set terminal to serial automatically, id serial connection parameters are specified. If you do not like this, make it a radio button with [] console [] serial and choose console by default -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
