Programmer <casualprogrammer@yahoo.com> 2007-08-13 05:53:43 MST --- Now then, for the sake of preciseness: After another "clean" install I noticed where my oversight lies: obviously some icons are there, it was my fault not to change the Summary accordingly. In fact instead of the "old/familiar" QT shell and GUI, I get the GTK version. The yast2 control center comes up with black menu items on dark brown background, so you can not read what is offered unless you cross the area with the mouse pointer and notice that the items background changes to white so you can then read the titles. As for yast2 sw_single in GTK it bears its name appropriately, as you can only deal with single items as opposed to the QT version which allows you to operate on groups of items and/or checklists. I don't have any constructive remark on how to change that, because it would probably involve complete redesign. That is why I choose to stick with QT, and I would really suggest, that at least a choice is offered during installation as to which variant it should be. If I remember correctly, in 10.2 and earlier QT was the GUI of choice, hence I am used to it after trying the GTK variant, I do not feel inclined to prefer that over QT. If I again remember correctly, the setting of auto in wanted_shell and wanted_gui should produce the QT variant, as this does not happen I reopened this Bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
