The bootsplash theme looks kinda bad too (the gradients aren't really smooth), but it seems to be dithered so I don't know if it can be improved at all or not. The console background isn't much of a problem in my opinion, since you're not supposed to see it very often. The KDE4 startup screen (ksplashx-suse) is perfect. Please also note that during the installation, the Expert Partitioner background does NOT have this issue, strangely. Anyway, I think this issue should really be fixed before the GM as it looks VERY ugly, and after the release it'll be too late to fix it (at least in the installation).
