https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=751671 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=751671#c0 Summary: "iSCSI Initiator Discovery" fails Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dfreeman@ieee.org QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.2 I have never used iSCSI before, so this is my first attempt. I am setting up the initiator, and I'm not sure whether the target is correctly configured. Both are running openSUSE 12.1. The initiator is x86-64, the target is i686. Under YaST2 (GTK version), I am at the screen "iSCSI Initiator Discovery". I have entered the correct IP address, left the default port number, and checked "no authentication". I clicked "Next". I got a pop-up with the error message: "YaST2" "Error" "iscsiadm: Could not read fw values." This error is completely worthless to me. It provides no clue as to what is wrong or how to correct it. Do I have missing packages? Is there a problem with the target or the network configuration? I have no idea. This is not how a first-time attempt at iSCSI should end. The same error appears each time I click "Next", and also if I close the tool and try it again.
