The kernel sees no partitions on sda. From the log:
/proc/partitions major minor #blocks name
8 0 5451776 sda 7 0 19588 loop0 [...]
Normal partitions must be there even without YaST triggering any detection. Looks more like a kernel module loading issue and mentioned before.
Where do you see it? I saw only this in logs (my log from comment #12): 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):18 numLines 11 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 1 is "major minor #blocks name" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 2 is "" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 3 is " 8 0 8388608 sda" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 4 is " 8 1 1558273 sda1" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 5 is " 8 2 6827625 sda2" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 6 is " 7 0 19592 loop0" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 7 is " 7 1 36272 loop1" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 8 is " 7 2 4276 loop2" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 9 is " 7 3 1360 loop3" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 10 is " 7 4 3008 loop4" 2009-03-19 13:00:53 <1> linux(2954) [libstorage] ProcPart.cc(ProcPart):21 line 11 is " 7 5 48 loop5" -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
