https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847269 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847269#c0 Summary: Hardware-accelerated video decoding packages not installed by default Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jdelvare@suse.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Community User Blocker: --- I installed openSUSE 13.1 RC1 on a system with a Radeon HD 5450 graphics chip. I noticed that the packages needed for hardware-accelerated video decoding were not installed. I had to manually install: libvdpau_r600-9.2.2-61.5.1.x86_64 libXvMC_r600-9.2.2-61.5.1.x86_64 I believe these should have been installed automatically. Most users won't realize that these packages are missing because not all users know they exist, so they will just think that video decoding is slow / needs a lot of CPU power. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
