https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343185 Summary: It's difficult to download images from a digital camera Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: nice@titanic.nyme.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other I have a Canon PowerShot A520 camera. DigiKam recognizes it as Canon Digital IXUS 50 (normal mode). My usual method of donloading images was starting digiKam and then click on Camera > Canon Digital IXUS 50 (normal mode). Now this can be done only the first time I connect the camera after a system reboot, and only when I choose "Do Nothing" and press "OK" after connecting the camera. Any other choice then will make me unable to use the camere in my usual way until I reboot. I discovered that the choice "Open in DigiKam" (which makes digiKam accessing the camera as system:/media/camera) works anytime, but I have to press "Retry" several times as digiKam warns me about the fact that "Connection Failure - digiKam...". The choices "Open In New Window" and "Browse with Gwenview" usually work anytime but I have seen the earlier to complain about some OS error sometimes. Choosing "Do Nothing" also works anytime, but it makes only possible to use the camera as system:/media/camera. Choosing the camera's name in the digiKam menu works only the first time as I said earlier. It seems to me the F-Spot also works only the first time I connect the camera and only when I choose "Do Nothing" that single time. So F-Spot behaves even worse than digiKam. I have't tried to use the camera under Gnome, only under KDE.
