https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471620 Summary: 3-way handshake fails for some IP-adresses Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: frank_fischer@fantasymail.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 I have a really strange problem. I recently updated from OpenSuSE 11.0 to 11.1 on my Acer Travemate 8100 and now I have the following problem. If I am connected to my router (Thomson cable router) with wifi (ipw2200) I can not connect to certain web-servers. If I connect with my LAN-cable attached, everything is ok. If I use a D-link wifi router everything is ok as well. Connect to www.google.de, LAN-cable attached: 11 12.616527 192.168.3.1 74.125.77.147 TCP 34282 > http [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 TSV=1854499 TSER=0 12 12.649817 74.125.77.147 192.168.3.1 TCP http > 34282 [SYN, ACK] Seq=0 Ack=1 Win=5672 Len=0 MSS=1430 TSV=3181584279 TSER=1854499 13 12.649856 192.168.3.1 74.125.77.147 TCP 34282 > http [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=1 Win=5840 Len=0 TSV=1854507 TSER=3181584279 --> works Connect to www.opensuse.org, LAN-cable attached: 49 39.328111 192.168.3.1 130.57.4.24 TCP 53982 > http [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 TSV=1861177 TSER=0 50 39.514730 130.57.4.24 192.168.3.1 TCP http > 53982 [SYN, ACK] Seq=0 Ack=1 Win=6144 Len=0 MSS=1380 51 39.514784 192.168.3.1 130.57.4.24 TCP 53982 > http [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=1 Win=5840 Len=0 --> works Connect to www.google.de, wifi: 16 5.765114 192.168.3.1 74.125.77.99 TCP 51405 > http [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 TSV=2027783 TSER=0 17 5.794694 74.125.77.99 192.168.3.1 TCP http > 51405 [SYN, ACK] Seq=0 Ack=1 Win=5672 Len=0 MSS=1430 TSV=3680839936 TSER=2027783 18 5.794753 192.168.3.1 74.125.77.99 TCP 51405 > http [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=1 Win=5840 Len=0 TSV=2027791 TSER=3680839936 --> works Connect to www.opensuse.org, wifi: 31 22.310785 192.168.3.1 130.57.4.24 TCP 56922 > http [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 TSV=2031920 TSER=0 32 22.502631 130.57.4.24 192.168.3.1 TCP http > 56922 [SYN, ACK] Seq=0 Ack=1 Win=6144 Len=0 MSS=1380 33 23.894152 130.57.4.24 192.168.3.1 TCP http > 56922 [SYN, ACK] Seq=0 Ack=1 Win=6144 Len=0 MSS=1380 34 25.310098 192.168.3.1 130.57.4.24 TCP 56922 > http [SYN] Seq=0 Win=5840 Len=0 MSS=1460 TSV=2032670 TSER=0 35 26.854485 130.57.4.24 192.168.3.1 TCP http > 56922 [SYN, ACK] Seq=0 Ack=1 Win=6144 Len=0 MSS=1380 --> does not work. Linux does not send ACK to SYN/ACK output of netstat for this connection: tcp 0 1 192.168.3.1:58811 130.57.4.24:80 SYN_SENT With OpenSuSE 11.0 or in Windows XP there is no problem. I do not have a firewall enabled: hostname:~ # iptables -L Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination There are a lot more sites I can not connect to due to the missing ACK. For example www.freshmeat.net. Next thing I try is to use older kernel-versions.
