https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426984 Summary: Failure with sax2 autoconfiguration routine Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: PC OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: dmitry.serpokryl@gmail.com QAContact: sax2-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Other Hello, here you can find the clear explanation of this case (please scroll a bit): http://forum.enlightenment.org/comments.php?DiscussionID=278&page=1#Item_20 the core is that "My computer is a HTPC chassis with micro a atx board. This board uses an embedded ATI 1250 Radeon chip and utilizes an HDMI output. The monitor or television takes up to 1280x720 but only at 30 frames per second. My first few attempts to boot from the disc were unsuccessful as the xconfig was incorrect for my television." then you can figure out that 'aticonfig --initial' also failed and just hope that my advice with 'gtf' and manual configuration is correct. the resolution is not the standard one. i used to have an ATI cards and always used vim /etc/X11/xorg.conf to configure them even for a standard VESA mode. we'll try to use the latest Xorg but i'm afraid the cases like this need some 'radical' solution like the 'Expert' capability in 'Sax2' to force the usage of a chosen mode (even if auto tool consider that this mode is impossible for a detected hardware). Thank you veru much! Regards, sda -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
